Background

Before this Department operated in Negeri Sembilan National Department for Culture and Arts Complex (JKKN NS), initially the Office was previously situated on Level 5, Federal Complex in 1995 which later moved to Arab-Malaysia Complex Building at Jalan Tuanku Munawir in 1998 before operating fully in its building which is Negeri Sembilan JKKN Complex in 2005.

Now Negeri Sembilan JKKN under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (KPK) is situated at Jalan Sungai Ujong, Seremban adjascent to Negeri Sembilan Museum Board Building.

The design of the complex is inspired by the concepts and characteristics of the Traditional Minangkabau house which has many edges and vortexes at each corner of the roof of the house. The structure of its arm is from the Malay traditional house and incorporated the verandah motive of Malay community traditional houses.
